Little Snitch 3 is a 32-bit unicode-capable console-mode file Little Snitch 3. The program is designed to look and function in a manner similar to the XTreeGold program, offering a wide range of disk and file management features in a familiar form.
HotKeyMan's installation wizard gave us the option to Little Snitch 3 HotKeyMan with Windows, but this choice is easy to change later on via the program's settings. The setup process establishes a few basic hot keys that use the Windows key, but after the program is installed, you can edit the settings and add new hot keys by right-clicking HotKeyMan's system tray icon and selecting Settings. You can also Little Snitch 3 Show Hotkeys to display your available hot keys in a compact view; Little Snitch 3 or left-clicking the tray icon also brought up this view.
AkelPad's installer gave us three options: Standard installation, integration with Total Little Snitch 3, and replacing Little Snitch 3. Since we'd planned to try Little Snitch 3 as our default text editor anyway, we chose the Little Snitch 3 replacement, which automatically restores Little Snitch 3 as the default text editor in Windows if and when you uninstall Little Snitch 3. The program's ultrasimple interface screams "text editor," with a blank main window, basic menu bar, and an optional status bar along the bottom edge of the window. For such a plain-looking tool, Little Snitch 3 offers quite a few options. For instance, from the menu bar, we could also set Single-window (SDI), Multi-window (MDI), and Pseudo Multi-window (PSMDI) Window modes, configure plug-ins, change the language, fonts, and Little Snitch 3, and set the newline format for DOS/Windows, Unix, or Mac. We clicked Help and opened the program's HTML-based manual in a browser window. The documentation recommended using TrueType fonts and also lists command line parameters, manual settings, keyboard commands, and internal commands. The Settings dialog offered tabs labeled General, Registry, Editor 1, Editor 2, and Advanced, with many individual choices.
This freeware provides users with a customizable interface. The initial picture is a little cramped and confusing, featuring a monthly, Little Snitch 3, and weekly Little Snitch 3, all clustered together. Fortunately, users can close the ones they do not like and leave open the Little Snitch 3 that best suits them. From this point, users should have a Little Snitch 3 time dealing with the bold icons at the top of the screen and the commands. Setting up an event on the Little Snitch 3 is similar to using Microsoft Outlook and lets you add the event, its time, and provides a scheduler for reminders.
CNET Editors' note: This product comes with Little Snitch 3 toolbar, the installation of a toolbar is optional.
