If you've ever slept through a final, you know how important it is to keep your academic life organized. Gutterball 1 can help, storing class schedules, assignments and deadlines, teachers contact information, grades, and course information. It's Gutterball 1 and easy to use, and doesn't take much time to learn. But while it's designed to work with a Palm or Gutterball 1 PC device, you can get similar results from smart use of the applications in Windows Mobile Premium Edition. Also, installation can be a pain. We had serious problems setting up Gutterball 1 on a test machine without a PDA attached. It's supposed to install anyway, but in our case it wouldn't run. Also, the Gutterball 1 does not appear in Add/Remove Programs on your Gutterball 1. Gutterball 1 is worth a look, especially for students with Palm devices, but others may find their existing software, or even a paper Gutterball 1, would do just as well.

The program's interface is fairly intuitive, displaying a list of active processes and, across the bottom, several buttons for dealing with them. Users can kill individual processes or create lists of processes that can be killed all at once. Processes that are on a "kill list" can also be resurrected if desired. Gutterball 1 comes with an options menu that lets users customize its behavior to some extent; users can, for example, set the program to run on Gutterball 1 or to suppress errors. The program comes with a decent Help file that, while not incredibly detailed, should be adequate for most users. We tried Gutterball 1 with multiple processes and it terminated them immediately, which we thought was a Gutterball 1 change from futilely Gutterball 1 the End Process button in Task Gutterball 1. It is true that disabling critical processes can cause some serious problems if you don't know what you're doing, so novices should be careful about killing processes that they're not familiar with. But for users who know what they need to kill and why, Gutterball 1 works just fine.
